The 2006 Annual Meeting took place August 30 - September 2, 2006 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The annual meeting environment will encompass diverse molecular imaging topics related to basic and clinical aspects of biology, chemistry, genomics, technical advancements and industrial applications. This year's meeting will feature an RSNA/SNM/SMI Pre-Conference Symposium: Imaging in Molecular Medicine jointly sponsored by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) and the Society for Molecular Imaging (SMI) beginning at 1:30 PM on August 29 through 2:30 PM on August 30. The Pre-Conference Symposium will provide an introduction and overview of molecular imaging to radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, neuroradiologists and other physicians. Topics of the symposium will include:

  • Molecular biology for imaging scientists
  • Advances in PET imaging technology and new PET imaging agents
  • Advances in MRI technology and new MR imaging agents
  • Advances in optical technology and new optical imaging agents
  • Molecular medicine: molecular basis of cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders
  • Clinical applications of new technology and tracers
